Default Amargosa.. all I can say is WOW.

I just returned from a vacation Trip in Las Vegas Nevada. Last Saturday I woke up and I looked in the ads and I found a place that rents Z400s and Raptors and you get to ride Amargosa and Dumont. That day they would only take us to Amargosa. Me and my bud rented our bikes and rode in to the dunes and were blown away. We are already making plans to go back. I am now considering on moving to Nevada area next year. Anyone know what property is like? Most of the locals said property has sky rocketed out over there within the past two years. Also sales tax seems 1.5 pecent more than here in NJ. You guys are more in tune with ATVing than we are here in a State that sells them in droves yet no legal open space riding.

I had a blast and look forward to going back. My Silver Lake Michigan trip is within 2 weeks, but I'd rather go to Amargosa. I gotta go visit Dumont as well.

Man, Ya should have Pmed me, I would have taken you to Dumont and we could have ran my ds. (for free)

Amargosa is nice, BUT wait till you see Dumont(45mins from Amargosa)!! You will be hooked for sure. It IMO is no comparison to Dumont.

The prices of land in Pahrump NV are reasonable (the best around I think), Ive actually looked and researched all the surrounding areas a few weeks ago. Vegas prices have gone up but if you look hard enough there are plenty of decent deals. For 3-400k you can find some great deals in a 3-4k square foot crib in pahrump on about a half to 1 acre.

My house has gone up 100k in the last 2 years. So I would make a move asap or settle in pahrump, Prices have gone up there 20k in the last 1-2 yrs there also. Then you have Coral pink sand dunes and other great dunes such as Sand MT NV which will amaze you, all within 4-5 hrs away.

How did ya like Vegas?? Did you go to any clubs??

Vegas was cool.. I liked it. However it had a bling-bling flashy high roller feel to it. You needed to spend lots of money out there. I must have spent at least $150.00 tipping everyone. Public transportation is kind of odd out there. There was an excessive flash of escort services which was pretty new and odd to me. Buffets were great, the Flamingo had the best Buffet I could find.

We stayed at the Stratosphere hotel and walked the strip every day. I picked up a local magazine with advertising and I saw an ad for that ATV Dune and Sport ( I can't recall the name of the company ) and I called, the price was right and we did it. My buddy who is a city kid loved it. It was his first dune experience and at the end of the day was climbing the hills right with me.

I would need a home with some yard space and a garage. I will look into that area. I heard however it gets very hot and it felt really dry out there compared to here. My budd had a nasty nose bleed and my lips are blistering. I wouldn't be able to move until next year. Also I would have to look into employment. I'm trying to knock off all my bills so I can dump every check in the bank and live off a few bucks. It seemed generally more laid back than here. I will make a return trip in the fall and scope it out some more. Perhaps we can meet with you and any other DSers out there.

I rode a Raptor and a YFZ450. The 450 has no torque which I found myself stalling it out more than I would like, but it revs to the moon. It also beat me up a lot more than the Raptor and by the last hour I was ready to get off of it. I had such a good time. I did stop a DS650 out there hoping it was a forum member. He had yellow plastics and black fenders along with some offroad lights on a funky front bumper. Said Dumont blows Amargosa away. Still, it was blast to ride in and I sure had fun. It was the highlight of my trip. Defintely will return.

my house has gone up 100k also. in Pahrump all they have are fabricated or custome homes. no track homes yet. it is 50k for 1/3 of a acre. the 120 degree temps suck but you can drink all day and all night at the bars!

The thing that bothers me about Vegas is the FLEAS that pass out the escort flyers, They get on my nerves, But Im RARELY on the strip. The Stratosphere end of the strip is the worst area. Ther heat is severe all around here in the summer.... BUT I do like some of the strip clubs (just for the Coronas)lol

We're not going to run out of water. I don't think the water authority will let the fastest groing city run out of water. Besides people having grass out here is a little rediculous.

I am going to get some friends together and head back in the fall. The guy said by then he'll have some DS650s. One day Amargosa, and the other will be Dumont. Shanksta perhaps you can meet with us as well as any other DSers as well. I will also looking for property when I get out over there. Seems like Nevada is hip with the ATV industry as opposed to NJ

In my State they are selling ATVs more and more each year, yet no dealer supports open space riding. We are restricted to only TWO atv tracks which both only really open on the weekends. One place to ride during the year you have to pay 350 to be a member to ride during the week. I have often times considered getting out of the sport because all the cool places we ride are no longer accessible. My bud had a fine fo 1500 in a sand pit. One of his fine was "destroying private property" How can you destroy sand?
