I purchased the Barnett 9 disk set from HPResearch. I will be adding either 40 or 60% springs even though I'm told that I shouldn't need them with my motor mods.

What was the price for the "Barnett 9 Disk Set" from HPResearch? My clutch is fried, so I'm looking to replace. I installed 40% stiffer clutch springs in late March. I don't know how I could have fried the clutches, although my 120lb neighbor kid was pulling wheelies (about 20 - 30) a few weeks ago on my back 40. Yesterday I took my oldest daughter on her first trail ride (roughly 28 miles) and noticed I had some issues. Anyway, when trying to rip throught the gears it slips like a beee'ach. I'm taking the clutch cover off in the next hour or two to take a look. Just wondering how much duckie I should expect to spend.

Randall quoted me $150.00 for the barnett 9 disk and $250.00 for Hpr's version of the barnett.

Just got off the phone with a friend who has a Rappy. He replaced his clutch recently. He was told the Barnett clutches for the Rappy were causing some problems. He stated the clutches were causing material to get into the oil and ultimately blocking some of the paths the oil uses to lubricate the engine. He was told, some engines were blown because of this. I understand the material may be different between plate applications for different machines. Do you need special oil for the Barnett application? I've run Valvoline 10-40 ATV oil since day one with no problems.

Are the Barnett clutches the recommend application for the DS?
