You want low end? keep the stock cams, put in a 14-1 piston and a TM45. stock pipe with end cap. You'll have incredible low end torque. spice it up with alky for a little more poop.

Randall- I tuned my bike on that particular dyno not the operator, all he did was set the computor up for me.. The dip on torq was before I leaned out the needle. It cleared the bog up showed on the 3rd sheet. I have had the same early torq peak on all the dynos Ive used. I do agree, With the right carb, snorkle tube and pipe you can throw the torq curve around with different combos..

Wildcard, to make sure I understand your post: As for engine performance, the only mod you have is an end cap, so your peak horsepower remains at 6300-6500rpm and your peak torque should be broadened and moved back to 5000rpm. You are soon to install a different carb- I will not pretend to know what that carb will do, but even the 46hv does not move the peaks by more than 200rpm, it simply raises the peak ouput numbers and broadens the curve.
To make sure I understand your question: you wanted to purchase cams that "directs power toward the bottom end" and you "want MORE low end".

Marky, to make sure I understand your response: "Web 109 grind"

Was I missing anything at the time I posted?

Yes you did miss something, that’s why I clarified it for you - in detail. Wildcard mentioned he was open to further motor mods - which is what most people on this thread are posting

Annihilator, and H, both seem to have some pretty interesting ideas for combinations. I for one am open to new discoveries of torque with different combinations. After all, isn’t this what a true forum is supposed to be - sharing information - or is this simply an advertisement? i.e. - call me.

One thing that nobody has asked wildcard yet is what does he mean by "more towards the bottom end"? That's why I gave all specs of of several cam manufacturers and and rated them by torque. But more bottom end (depending on the RPM) can also mean more horsepower. We also dont know what exactly the application is. Is it a hill? if so how steep, and what is the terrain? Whats his gearing? So, before you go trying to knock down everyone for posts, I dont see you in here helping anyone, other than asking them to call you. Afterall, arent we all just trying to help a DS brother out?

By the way, I am genuinely honored by your focus on my posts. I wonder what your motivation is?

Wildcard, if it were my money, my next mod would be a good carb. You will be overly impressed with the results. I had the same basic mods as you did when I bought my carb, changed the whole machine. If you want torque, and if for now are not wanting to raise you peak rpm power, the carb will expand you peak range significantly. Two of our bikes run with the 109's, one with hpr4 cams, all have power just under 8000 rpm, not what you, (as I understand the post) are after. We love our 109 cams, but they have peak power over what your current mods will give you. If you put a good carb on, when you do want to raise your peak power, it will make it that much more significant. Now I am not saying the 109's dont produce torque, for they do. However, if you were to ride any of our machines, then get on Dsaholics with web 109/110 cams, you would say it feels like he has more torque. While this might be true to a point, the comparison magnifies this because when his cams reach peak power, ours are still going, making it feel like we have peakier power. Hope this makes some sense. In my short experience, the web 109/110s rev quicker then the 109's, yet fall very short of the 109's on the top end. keep in mind I have no other experience with the other cams mentioned. But I can tell you this, just today, a bike I tuned has a ron woods cdi, HPR 46hv, ODP endcap, my ported intake, k&n, and a lightened flywheel, beat a full ronwoods stage two, tuned by others up Sand mountain Utah! All with stock cams and piston. But so you know, the stage two was closing the gap the whole way, but the gap ceated at the start was never relinquished. Now I dont know whats cams were in the stage two, but I could find out if you would like. Sorry for such a long winded post, but I was brought up and figured I better put in my two cents.

Default looking for bottom end cams or other mods

Ok guys thanks for all the info , i will try to clear some things up i have an end cap and a k&n and a 15 tooth front sprocket. I ride mostly trails, im looking for more torque for pulling the wheels over stuff on the trails and pulling better wheelies and running up just average hills. i have only rode the dunes once so that is not what im building it for that, (I have the zilla for that), and as for mods that im willing to do, I would prefer to just do a carb and a set of cams, unless there is something that i really need to do with these, i couldn't use alky(to inconvienient around my area) i also cant go to really high compression because i have to be able to run pump gas on some of the trails, im just looking for more snap I guess i could call it, I think maybe 650 viper is right the carb may do wonders, I'm going to get it as soon as im done fixing my uncles quad then i will have time tune the new carb.

Thanks Guys

You could add a piston @ 11:1 and still use 91 octane pump gas....

What gear do you like to travel when you are running up just average hills and trail riding? Is this the gear in which you want to pull the font end up?

After hearing what your application is so far, I tend to agree with CountryJoeGlass except for the piston. If you have access to 98 octane then an 11.5:1 compression piston would be fine. But a lot of folks cant even get that. I dont think an aftermarket cam (from the choices I gave) would be the best in your situation. A carb, Exhaust Tip, re-gearing, tire size change would be the best choices.

Oh and one other thing, if you decide to look around for a carb, and find a used Mikuni TM45, make sure the Accelator pump has been activated on it. If you get that carb without the pump, you wont have the low end for popping wheelies - but you will if its intalled and tuned correctly. You want a carb that will comes alive when you stab it.
