Default Another problem for me!

Well I finally put the Pig back together after getting a new swingarm and getting stuff powder coated.

well to my surprise, the engine started up first shot.
Then it stalled on me. I noticed that the carbs slipped out of the manifold. Not tight enough.

well after tightening them up, I can't get the engine to turn over.

All i get is a click at the solenoid and starter.

My buddy came and looked at the engine and says that the crank turns freely untill it gets to top dead center, then it won't move.

He thinks I have a broken valve.

Does that sound right. I was planning on going to Dumont next weekend with my son. Guess that's out.

I really hope it's nothing major, I want to make it to DS days.

Vegas650 talk to Jeffroe & Crazypainter about the valve's or spring failure. Theres happened while running & not starting I believe. How old are the valve springs. DuneMe has posted that @ high rev's he only gets about a year out of his valve springs. I'm going to check mine out more often.

The springs have about a year on them.

I broke one and replaced them all.

The valves are still the stock ones from an 00.

just sounds like a weak battery to me, have you tried jumping the bike from you truck? TDC is hard to turn by hand unless one of the spark plugs is removed, you could remove one and turn by hand first just to be sure before you jump it.

Hey al!! Sorry to hear about the trouble. Yea ,take out one of the spark plugs and try to turn it over by hand. It should turn over. you did run it!! Did you run it hard? High revs? Did it make alot of noise when it shut down? If not its not a broken valve. Hope you find the answer If not give me a call. We just fired up the turbo bike with the 8:1 piston last night. All is good Putting the rest together this week, and with some luck it's Dumont for me and my boy earily sat.

Had BOTH plugs out and couldn't turn it past TDC.

Batterry is a brand new PC45. And I did make sure it was fully charged.

Bud, it ran for about a minute or two. I never even cracked the throttle.

I am going to pull the head off and see what I can find.

I know this might sound elementary, but check and make sure the battery cables are clean and tight.

Another bone head move for me.

Pulled the head off and there looking me straight in the eye was a brand new stainless steel NUT!

I 'm sure it didn't fall in when the carbs slipped, so I must have got it in there during the rebuild. I guess it took a little while to suck through the intake valve.

Now what do you guys think I may have damaged?

I don't have anyone to look at it untill Thursday.
