Default Roll call for ds days!

Finally sitting down in my chair.

Trailer is washed and clean as it the truck. The DS's were put away dirty (again) But, too many other chores to take care of.

Great to see the group. . . some for the first time, some again and in all cases getting to know some friends better.

I was impressed with Kelly's (KMS) showing up and working on customer's bikes all weekend long (with his family there on HIS vacation.) Gotta give props to that.

TVI and On Dunes were there to support as well and offerend their experience to many people (including me) as well.

These guys really deserve a lot of credit for this kind of customer support.

Couldn't have been more thrilled with the way the "Big Girl" ran this weekend. Power was very crisp and for an all motor, gas engine, dune-built (not drag) I don't think I could expect anything more. It was spooky how well it ran. Thanks for the props Jed and Schwendi.

Things I learned this weekend:

1. Three shots of Apple-pie are NOT enough (but, better to error on the not enough side than the too much side.)
2. When the 8itch Ranger says, "some people think we're doing great out here!" I'll know who told her that
3. There IS something that makes more noise than Jed's pipe (but, dam that thing is loud!)
4. Coffee Roaster's Babe. . . (see #3 above. . . barely got to sleep that night. . . result of #1 above not doing enough work.)
5. All you need is a Home Depot bucket and a roll of garbage bags
6. Utah Everclear is 200 Proof and Nevada Everclear is 150 Proof. . . who would-a thunk it (Maybe Utah for DS Day's will work )
7. Raley's in Fallon doesn't sell Everclear. . . (stopped on the way home to get some and they didn't have it)
8. Even after all I've spent on my DS's and the many year of DS Days. . . . DS Day's will still cost me money!!! (I may be the only one NOT running the Funny Gas.)

As for my take on this ACCIDENT:
I'm guilty of turning out before looking. . . (usually realize it just as I'm turning and tell myself "O-$hit!!! That could-a hurt!!!".) Schwendi's buddy just wasn't lucky that day. As for the "School Bus" lol. . . a sandrail hit my left rear tire in April as Sand Mt. and my DS only bent a rim (I got bucked and thrown and hit hard though). . . the sandrail's front A-arms were all messed up. So, it is true. . . if you see a School Bus you may want to steer clear. Jed's stand-up and Schewendi's a good guy so, I'm sure if you guys met and talked, all would be good. Honestly, I'm glad nothing got said at the hill because it probably would have ended up getting ugly and we don't need that. So, I'ld rather see it on here where hopefully people can learn from it and remember the "riding tip".

Anyways. . .

Great riding with all of you.

Fernando, Al - great to see you guys again even though you weren't able to hang in our camp.

DS Engineer and Schwendi - good to meet you. (Kevin - May see you later this week. )

Jed and Matt's group - really was a pleasure getting to know you guys better.

Gary, Mark and Kelly - thanks for the help you gave me and the others but, it was just good to see and talk to you guys more than anything.

Blackhawk - thanks for the Apple Pie and good riding with you and Sandaholic.

2001Raptor2001 - Like your new ride. Good to see you again Steve.

T-Bone, JS, Scoundrel, etc., etc. - Welcome to the new guys. . . see you guys again next year.

Schwendi, I didnt come on here talking trash. People asked about the accident, I gave them my side of the story. All hills are the same, look before you turn. There is no problems with your friend, if Matt would have been hurt worse, believe you me, there would have been. I am sorry for not using more politically correct wording for you, dumbazz might not have been the best way to put it.

As for your mph, do you remember when you were taking them? I'm just curious to find out since I only took mine once with a full bottle.

Sweet azz picture of all the bikes lined up. Wish I could have hung out longer and added our three to the mix.

Marky, I wish I had realized what your handle was when we met on Saturday, I really wanted to hear what your LTE pipes sound like. Oh well, maybe we can meet up one of these days up in Florance or something.

Teebone it was cool talking to you, and again my crew hits the Oregon dunes every 3rd weekend of the month. Could slow down as December approaches, presents and all for the kids tap into riding money

I have my own 2 cents on the wreak, but I think I will go with "No deposite no return"

Later all

Brenten

Guilty - Buy hey, it worked! - I just never thought I could be so sharp after a large amount of Vokda - must have been the Red Bull Mixer! LOL

Just got in last night. Lost my air filter out in the dunes on Sunday so it cut my riding a bit short.

I wanted to give a thanks out to DSaholic and 650Viper for the gearing and tuning tips. It was amazing how much harder my DS was pulling the long hills by the end of the weekend. That #30 power jet made a huge difference. The group ride was a blast and it was great getting to meeting most of you.

Hopefully DS Days will continue to get bigger and better each year.

i can live with this.

we sat up on the hill in the lawn chairs radaring for a few hours on friday night. we easily could have missed you on the full bottle runs. speeds also might be lower since we were taking them from the top part of the hill vs taking them from the base

we did clocked the BLM rail at 50 mph ... they asked their speed and we told them they could do better. They went back down and made a 54mph pass! LOL

Was it a light yellow colored foam filter?

If so, I saw it over by the hill.

Jed,

I just wanted to also mention how surprised I was to see the chriogentic storage facilities you had. Certainly enough Nitrous to fuel all of our quads and then some. After getting Scatterbrain's Nitrous kit installed, it was good to actually try it on his DS. Man that seat felt nice too! Make sure that Matt calls me about what we talked about there.

I let Laker know how well the plastic worked on Blackhawks quad. He was very thankful for us checking it out. He said he worked really hard to get the fit and finish right - Clearly they are detail oriented.

Also, I've got someone's tire patch kit. I dont remember who's it is - I need to mail it back.
