hey alltoos- i think you better double check your overpriced comment. Retail price of the outlander 800 is the same as the polaris 800 at 8599 and the outty is a true 800 unlike the polaris. Sure the XT is $700 or so more but it comes with winch, etc.

Uprjoe,
I have been reading all of this and trying to keep an open mind to both what you and the others are saying. I have 2 bombs now (not outlanders) and have been planning on getting the 800 as soon as I can.
I think the idea of protecting people from something that is dangerous is a upstanding reason for saying the things you have said about the new bomb, but I do take issue with the fact that you turned right around and tried to sell it on ebay as the greatest thing since sliced bread and did not mention that it was dangerous or had been wrecked. In one breath you say it is not about the money and then you turn right around and try to cheat someone else out of their money by selling your 800 under false pretense.
I don't know that you really care, but you have killed your entire argument by pulling this stunt and trying to take advantage of someone else for your own personal gain.
I remember early on in your rant, that you said you had already contacted your lawyer about turning this over to the national safety board or some such as that.. So, how is that going for you.
You have had your fun on-line, you have caused questions that may or may not have needed to be asked. I think you are done. I know I am done wasting my time reading the posts that you have started on this NON-Item.

lol, don't forget he also wrote Ralf Nader!!!
I love Judge Judy to hear his case. UPRJOE saying "Judge I crash my ATV after hitting a small hole and then the frame broke from it rolling many times and hitting me in the head" Judy Judy saying "you must think i'm stupid" lol

I don't know how to take a person who posts something them edits the contents of the post. I do not know if they are trying to make fools of people who post behind them or if they have other alternative intentions. I just cannot understand as for the second time you say you edit it for protection of others and due to the fact some people are loyalist to products they own. One last question before I shut up is have you contacted Bombardier directly about this issue? They will address it as I have spoke to them and they seem to be a company driven on customer satisfaction and safety.

again, i am not calling anyone a liar, but i feel my thread was overlooked somehow. therefore, i would still like it to be addressed in the manner it was posted. simple questions, or quearies, if you will. (sp)?
did you look at the frame and suspencion before you bought it? being a metal man, i would of thought this to be of interest to you. myself being into restoring homes, i know what to look for in homes, and so do most metal fabs?
why do you not post pictures of the bike, damage, or any form of proof of a bad build by bomb.( remember, you stated a case here, we are only trying to look into it with our concerns)
why have you not even tried to show the damage in its entirity, instead of stripping it down, and showing us a tab, being bent in a direction it was not intended to go it, and has no integrity in?
have you made one single attempt to even do what others have stated, and put just the sleave back in, and try to bend it?
you see, i can crawl under my truck, witch weights alot more than any quad, remove numerous parts, and start to bend steel against its strenth area. heck, i can crush valve seats with 2 fingers, and they handle heat under a massive load. there load is directional, as is the tab you bent. therefore, my arguement that gm should build a better and stronger valve seat would be useless and taken harshly, ya see what i mean?
i am not calling names, but rather calling you out on this. you seemed vary concerned about our wellbeing, as well as out wallets. i commend anyone who is like that. all i ask for is any, and i mean ANY proof of this. so far there has been none.

REALLY SIMPLE QUESTION JOE..................WHY ARE YOU TRYING TO SELL THIS QUAD??? IF this quad has been wrecked doesn't the pending buyer have the right to such information? The potential buyer is entitled to full disclosure IMO and I do hope someone has e-mailed e-bay about a potential auction under fradulant information.

Here's what I've heard first hand....If you take a tab and attempt to bend it as a solitary unit, it will bend. You take the unit as a whole and it is very strong. On a test ride, one hit a massive log at speed followed by the quad ending up at the bottom of a 90' revine. It took a little winching, but it fired up and rode out with nothing other than superficial damage.
Side note, Doug Eichner hit the MX track here last Monday and could clear all but the largest jump on the 800 Outy on stock suspension.
Like I have said before, 1 failure does not make a piece of cr@p. Anything can be broken if it is hit just so, twisted just right or bent enough. The Outlander's durability will be put to the ultimate test very soon.
