Mine does not run hot. It's not a MrHp jug either. It's a bored and sleved jug. So if you do go with a much better MrHp jug you certainly will not have any over heating problems

I have the hp730 kit and I also had the TVI kit. I run mine in the dunes here in AZ and sure my fan comes on but it has never overheated. My fan comes on less than my buddies stage II. During the winter months just duning the fan comes on very little. Hope that helps. I have a complete TVI kit sitting in the garage if you want to try that one cheap. You will like the tourqe of the big bore.

Hey Squatcher, why did you change from the TVI to Hp? The TVI kits are sleeved, yes? The Hp kits are nikasil, i believe. You notice any difference between the two kits? I don't wanna' upset anyone, but if i was interested, what $$$ would i be looking at, you said cheap... ?
Is the kit still in good condition? Any problems or repairs need to be addressed? Please let me know. (twinturrbo406@yahoo.com) email me if you like. Thanks.

The reason I switched was my first builder couldn't get it to seal. Well he never replaced the base gaskets and he didn't use the right head gasket. When I put the new kit on my current builder checked the jug and everything was perfectly flat. Yes, the TVI is a sleeved. Thnking about it my HPR doesn't kick the fan on as much but I really don't think it was much of a difference. I did dyno both kits with the same dyno and everything being the same ie: gearing, cams, carbs. The HPR was a smoother tourqe curve and about 2ft lbs than the TVI the horsepower was within 1hp. If buying a new kit I would go with the HPR. You get the kit and put your motor together with all of your stock stuff in your garage. You have to send your cyl into TVI and wait for them to get it back to you than you don't have a spare. Just my 2cents. I just like Randal and Eric better aswell.

He couldn't seal it? At the head or the base of the cylinder? What head gasket was he using? Is your head & cams stock? 60.2hp is a nice number, wish mine made that.

If you do have a problem with it running hot, theres a new waterpump housing and propeller out that will help with that problem. I just tested the prototype with good results. I dont even have a fan and only dune. But with more power comes more heat. I dont think I have heard of overheating problems though.

Where did you get the new water pump hardware from? I'm all for more cooling.
