As the topic states, I'm pretty sure I hurt a shift fork, bike will only go between first and neutral. I'd rather give my money to a board member than someone else. If anyone is interested let me know. I'm in the SoCal area but will travel some. Thanks, Dave

The guy everyone calls The Preacher (he doesn't know that though ) does great work and is VERY reasonable on hourly labor. You'll have to ship your engine to Sacramento though but, he'll take a look at your gears and let you know if the engagement dogs are rounded at all and you should look to get the gears undercut.

Let me know and I can hook you up.

I'll try John first since he is only about 5 miles from me, if he doesn't or can't do the job I will PM you for the "Preachers" info. Thanks guys, Dave

If it will only go between first and neutral it sounds like the plastic washer on the bottom of the shift drum is the problem.

That would be nice if it was the plastic piece, I really hate to tear it apart for this. I dropped it off so we'll see. Thanks everyone!!

Sorry to say you still have to split the cases to fix the plastic drum washer.

When they replace this plastic washer do they use another plastic one? Or is there a upgrade to brass or something? If it was me I would make a brass or oilite bronze washer.

TriSum

Do the work yourself. There are several on this site that are close to you and would be willing to come to your place to help.
