Do a search on the forum for 'apple pie' and you'll find the recipie. my version is 1.20 gallons of apple juice, 2 cups of brown sugar instead of 1, 8-10 cinamon sticks and 12 cloves instead of 8. Everything else is the same. If you can get stronger everclear, it'll be that much more fun. I doubt that 180 proof everclear tastes any different than 150 proof.

Okay here is the skinny....

I called the ATV rental place. It is called ATV Dune and Desert. The owner is very confident on his YFZ so I need you fast DSers to show him how its done the Bombardier way. I called a few places to ship my DS. Alongside the thick cost of shipping you also need to crate it. As much as I would love to take my DS out there I want this short and brisk trip to be convient. So in the end I will wind up renting either a YFZ450 or a Z400. I spoke to Bigdaddy and he reminded me no matter what I will still have just as much fun. I will be at Amargosa on Friday November 11th. Saturday Nov 12th I will be at Dumont. The ATV place will be picking us up to and from the hotel at the end of each session. I am ordering my tickets now. I am sure I will return and when I do it will defintely be for a longer period and with my DS. I look forward to meeting all you guys out there and once again be prepared to pose for some pictures. I hope to get some good video footage as well for a DVD I am compiling.

Blackhawk I am going to make some of that good stuff. If you can bring some along that would be even better!!

Entomber, sounds like you're on the right track. You'll like either the Z400 or the YFZ 450. It was me, I'd go with the Z400's. You'll learn quickly how uncomfortable the YFZ is in about 20 minutes. The Z400 will go anywhere out there and do it at a pretty good pace. Obviously, you won't be at pace with the DS's but you'll have a tone of fun.

I won't be going to Armagosa, but I will be at Dumont for a day trip. Entomber, If I were you I'd do Dumont for the weekend. Armagosa is an armpit compared to the body of Dumont.

Big Daddy your right but I am collecting Sand (I sample the sand in the places I have ridden) and I need a sample of Amargosa. I also want my bud to be comfortable so Gosa is a good place for him to get his feet wet.

YFZs are uncomfortable I rode another one this weekend. They are light, nimble and have a lightswitch powerband but the suspension kills the hell out of you. I wish I can bring my DS but I am sure I will return with it next time. Dumont or bust!!!

Dude if you coming all the way out here then go to Dumont, there are plenty of dunes for a newbie to ride, who the hell wants armogosa sand anyways....

1Badrap - amen brother.

I think that Armagosa is actually more dangerous. The transitions from hills to flats are non-existant, the sand is funky and after about an hour and a half of good riding, you've seen the entire dune. I'm not a big fan but if ya got to get a sample, you got to get a sample.

UPDATE:

I will be flying in on Friday night. Tickets have been ordered. I forget where we are staying but the guy I am renting the quads from is picking us up. Amargosa on Sat, Dumon on Sun (Nov 12th - 13th). I hope this doesnt' screw anyone up. We are trying to get another Jersian to come with us. I will not be shipping my DS. It costs too much and I just want the trip to be convient. Two weeks I take my frame to the powdercoater but I will return in April-May and defintely will be shipping my bike then (hopefully the 800 kit is in too).

No worries here, I'll be at Dumont with you on Sunday. Be there about 9:30am or so.

Let me know if you need anything Entomber.
