I find it interesting that everyone thinks it is such a big difference. Even by thier own dyno on HPresearch the power difference was minor. Just my 2 cents, but that was thier dyno. It is all about tuning and having the right pieces in place for whatever you get. For me my TM45 came in used for the right price. I have not been able to run it yet, but can't wait to over stock.

I own the Lectron and before I bought my Lectron I heard people talk about the TM45 for a solid four years - it never sounded like a good idea for me. I love the power and functionality of my lectron, nothing I've used compares. Is it better? I think so, everyone who owns one thinks so. People who own the TM45 think the TM45 is better, that is why they own one.
The dyno testing that was done by HPR was very fair, there were many people involved in that test - The Bom (who to my knowlefge runs TM45s on several of his 6 DS650s and is a very well respected engine builder) as well as AZSAND, who spent money out of his own pocket to fly to Kentucky from his warm sunny home in Arizona to arrive in Kentucky when it was some damn cold weather going on. (If I recall correctly, he didn't really bring much cold weather clothes with him either.) Don't dis that dyno test, you can't get a more fair test with a more experienced set of tuners.

How are finding the jets for the lectron...the big thing that make me want the mikuni is that its "MIKUNI" get jets anywhere pretty much and get parts anywhere. Does the lectron use its own style of jets or does it use mikuni or keihin...and if not where do you get the jets from and parts if needed.

You don't need jets with a Lectron, it uses a 'metering rod' which covers about 35 jets. You don't need to rejet for even significant elevation changes as the metering rod can adjust for that. The Lectron is very versitle - once you have it correctly jetted for your favorite riding area, you can go up or down in elevation a few thousand feet and not have any problems. If you go up or down say, 6000 feet, you might want to twist your metering rod a bit (twisting the metering rod is how this carburetor is adjusted) but other than that you are good to go. Now there are some other fine tuning circuits that someone more knowledgeable about Lectrons can tell you about but the major part of it is the metering rod that you adjust on your own to fine tune your carburetor.
