Well...here's the deal. I finally got around to contact BOMB directly today. I spoke to the Cust service rep who was cordial and respectful. I gave her the chronology of events over the past 3 weeks. She took my info and promised appropriate escalation....
Not more than 2 hours later I received a call from a tech person who appears to be very knowledgable regarding traxters. He seemed to be familiar with the problem I'm having but, when he went to look me up in the file, he couldn;t find me! It appears my dealer has not informed BOMB of the sale!

Anyway, we spoke at length about the situation and, get this, they DO look at this forum and he mentioned it a few times! I was impressed that they spend the time to see what the 'little' people have to say. He did mention that some traxters make the hydraulic noise when shifting and that it's a normal funtion of the machine. Well, I explained that I'd like a machine that didn't come with the optional 'squeaky' transmission. I bought it without the sqeak and want it back without the squeak. He understood
and promised to followup with both the dealer and me.

We'll see how it turns out.

I thought it only fair to mention the good with the bad...John C

JohnC, glad to hear this news. I'd posted my 2 cents last week. You should let the AG know you made contact as well. I heard they look at this and other boards but I wouldn't have believed it until now. PS Well??? can you share the phone number??

Good Luck

johnc,
That's very good news to hear and thank you for sharing it. My Traxter also makes a hydraulic sort of noise but it has always done so from new. It doesn't seem to get any worse so I am not worrying about it. Glad to hear that Bomb. says it is a normal kind of noise too. I really believe that Bomb. listens and reacts to what their customers are telling them. I had a very bad experience with Arctic Cat SNOWMOBILES a few years back. With no help from the dealer and with absolutely no response back from AC after two well written letters describing a manufacturing problem with a machine I had just bought (it was a demo). I phoned them up after awhile and they acted like "well, too bad." Guess what? I ride Ski-Doo (Bomb.) snowmobiles now.
Good luck and hope to hear more good news again soon!

Good to hear they answered you. Not many companies can be successful without repeat customers. Besides, one disgruntled former customer can turn off 10 new prospective ones. Also, it is good to see you come back with a follow-up. Many folks want to vent their anger and then not tell the rest of the story. Keep us posted.

johnc,
I am glad you were able to contact Bombardier directly, as I suspected, your dealer is not doing what they said they are doing.
Sadly your dealer is not the first one to be found out.
Why a dependable dealer with a good reputation will be a better bet down the road.
As in any area "Honesty is to be admired"
Anyway good luck.

I'm not surprised by your prob with arctic cat, and you're right to say some years ago. I think things have changed now, they're more reliable. I have the whole contrary experience though.
I have a 440MXZX and I can't finish a ride without troubles (electrical in paricular). But I won't blame BOMB for that because this machine has been prepared for SnoCross and I suspect the tuners not to have cared much about electrical details (but it's a blast to ride!).
