The DS's are built to last! The reason they are 60lbs. heavier then the raptor is because its built better. The only problem I've had with mine is that if you roll it the headlight breakes real easily. It has plastic mounts. But the ROTAX motor is unbelieviable. The rev-limiter has to go. Ron Wood Racing sells CDI's for $350.. Well worth the money. It will really scream without it. They are simple to put in you just unplug your old and plug in the new one. Its a black box below the left side of the fuel tank. And as far as these so called shootouts? All I've done to my DS is put a Ron Woods CDI and a Graydone Proline pipe on it. I eat Raptors all day long and I wiegh 250lbs. So go figure? The DS is the best!! Right men??

Aren't you now running a "modified" DS? Earlier threads in this section established that only stock vs. stock competitions were considered to be valid for new model comparison.

The Raptors that I raced were'nt all stock. Some were piped and geared. Stock ones were no challenge but the modified Raptors kept it close but not close enough. sorry?

amtCHAD,I have Been thinking about a new exhaust/pipes...But I heard of problems with others.... How do you like the graydon ? Any problems? Did it fit well when you installed it? Does it seal well? Has it discolored?

Dave, I'm really impressed with the Graydone pipe . It fits well and performes outstanding. 2nd gear wheelies are no problem!! I bought a chrome one for $350. and it has discolored to a yellowish tint (which it doesnt look bad because the bike is yellow) but you can buy a ceramic coated version for $399. Its the same exact pipe. But I am very pleased with it and would recommend to anyone.

No reason to be sorry. So, if I follow your logic correctly, my wife on her Banshee, which is modified, eats DS's for snacks and is yet to be beat must be the best bike? Right?

Dave ,

You do not have to re-jet if you leave your stock air filter on. If you put a K&N on you will have to re-jet. I did not re-jet mine I've ckecked the plugs many times and they are burning great.
