Default dashing mounting ideas

been working on my quad for powder coating and have a few parts to put on the scale the metal loop that the dash mounts to comes in at 1 pound 5 oz. was looking the hondas over and noticed they use these plastic rivet type fasteners that are reuseable looked like a couple holes drilled and three or four of those would save a pound or so, and be a cheap change. the nose plastic mount to the oil tank so so aluminum brackets might be needed for the back of the headlight but those would be pretty easy, any other ideas out there?

Bill.Sounds like you are serious about saving some weight on your DS.I dont have any plans to lighten my Baja but if i did i would consider the axle, sprockets.aluminum oil tank?,.125 wheels, billet shifter, and what about running the lightest tires possible that will still hold up to drag racing. What about running the minimum amount of fuel possible without getting so low you will run out.I have never added it all up but the tires and wheel that we all typically run are probably the one area that you could see quite a weight savings. Most of these you have no doubt already considered but maybe someone will come up with something you have not thought about. In my case i figure since i am 230 lbs whats the point.Besides my Baja will be mostly used for duning but as you know i will get in there and mix it up with just about anyone in a drag race just to see where i stand.

I just ordered more parts for the Baja tonight. This stuff really starts adding up.I suppose it wouldnt hurt for me to consider saving weight on some items like possibly the 520 chain you mentioned. What do you think about running .125 wheels on the Baja rear.I am a little concerned about really pounding through the whoops with them but they may hold up.

i have a lt 80 with them and there bent, 160 is as low as i would go for where we ride, but i can't afford the price if things go bad like a blow out. on the track i'd run them the weight is the ticket if you ask me. and 520 is a good answer, there are plenty of high power machines with it.

what about going to the gym, dont get me wrong im not calling any one heavy here, but it would be an easy way to lose some big weight compared to losing 1lb on the light bracket and changing to a 520 chain, This is my plan as soon as it warms up a bit here im eating much healthier and im going to start jogging, this is my plan to beat my buddies predator, and its cheaper than doing all kinds of mods.

I went to the pot and the Suzuki Dealer. I lost 2 lbs of burrito and 130 lbs of mass by getting another bike. But I look kinda big on my new Quadracer, they say. Guess Ill have to spend some more time in the Gym too. LOL.
