Does any one know the main jet to use at silver lake? I have a dyno jet kit and running a 185 main jet. Is that going to be ok or will it lack power and bog down?

As for the jetting question steve. I would think that your 185 is way to big for the modds you have listed. I have a filter and a pipe and only have a 172 or 175 m/j. With just a filter you shouldnt need to rejet, I know I didnt. Try putting the stock 1 back in.

I followed what it said and put in a 185 with the air box lid off and stock pipe. According to that, that is a stage 3. As it runs, I have to idle it high to keep it running until it is warmed up, then it is fine. I run it hard and I also notice if I am going up a steady uphill, 3rd bogs down a little. What do you think.... I was going to mess with it later today when I get up. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

Not to be a smarty pants, but advertisement is just that. Your quad is a basic stocker. The stock m/j is I believe a 165. I am not sure if your jet kit measures out the same as the mikuni jets. But check your plugs and go from there. I have listed what is done to mine and I only run a mikuni 172 or 175 and mine may be on little on the rich side but just a tiny bit. I weigh 150lbs and can pull big hills in 3rd without full throttle and never bogs. A friend of mine weighs 220 and he also has rode it up the same hills with no problem. A big jet means nothing unless you need one that big. Like I said before, I would do a plug check and go from there. Hope ya getter figured out. RUSS
Oh ya if you are having to idle it high until it warms up then I think you need to adjust your idle screw, this will help when starting and idling and 1/4 throttle performance.

when I had the stock jet in, I would bog down in 3rd going up test hill. I do weigh in about 215. But I will swap out the jet and try that. I need a tach tool to help with the tuning in the carb. Thanks for the input!!

Check this site out to determine the size of jets. Your running about the same jet as I am.
Dyno vs. Mikuni

Thanks for the link. Well that is right we are running the same size jets. I think you still need to do a plug check. I was just helping a guy get his raptor figured out last night, it is big bored and everything else with a edelbrock and he was runnin way rich. I use a laser temp gun to read temps of exaust and engine and read the plugs. Reading the plugs is one of the easiest ways to determine a rich or lean state. Keep us posted. RUSS
