Default carb help.. please

It depends on what you mean by worth it. I got great performance out of mine. I (if money willing) will and try to get a 46. All I do is trail ride. I know some people will hate hearing this but yess I got mine from Mr. HP. He may have sent it alittle fat, ( being on the safe side not to lean out a customers motor) But I'd perfer a little fat and yes I'm happy I did. Kinda like you are now I wasn't sure if I should or not. Now I'm sure it was the right desision

P.S I have the lectron 44

I have a hpr lectron 46, with intake. and it is well worth the cash, just depends how much you value the performance, if you were happy with your stock carb before, stick with a second hand cheap replacment. But if you intend upgrading more in the future go with the aftermarket now.

i trail ride , a lot of technical stuff and find the 46 a good carb for all riding conditions despite my doubts when i got it.

Needs a twist throttle, You can get thumb kits for them but i they a pricey

i went for gold. haha..
today i got the lectron 44pj, port matched intake, twist throttle, new cable, cable boots, intake adapter tube, new intake manifold gaskets, and the adjuster for the carb(makes the lectron easily adjustable). I ordered it all from mr hp and i am very pleased with the purchase. tommorow i am taking the head off and my local shop is going to do some minor porting for some more folw.

my overall goal here is not to have the higest power ds in my area, but to bring it alive a bit more and to have no problems with driveabiltiy or reliability.

a question tho... i am nervous about the twist throttle, i mean i used to be a cycle man so, i am no stranger to the concept, but i am not sure if i will like it on the ds..anyway, do i need to remove the hand gaurds with the twisty? or can i modify it to keep the gaurds?

I have a twist and love it. You can modify the throttle tube to accept the guards.
