Bomber,

It seems safer than nitrous, and more reliable making it from race to race without complications.
After having extensive experience in both, I can tell you that it all depends on the nitrous system and the turbo system. There is nothing wrong with a turbo in general, but in a drag situation, the amount of HP from Nitrous can be the same or greater, with huge weight savings. Every turbo sled kit that I shipped had about 28lbs of parts in the kit.

When yjacket doesn't delete his posts, he sounds just like Raining Cloud Just an observation.

Thanks for the information. You are an expert so I can't add anything to what you cite.
But the 2 stroke turbo banshee clips didn't seem to have any lag, ran like a sewing machine, and looked to be very reliable.
Nitrous in the hands of experts would be powerful, but there has to be variable limits with fuel enhancers that just can't be controlled
as well as mechanical support systems. And as both are probably hard on engine, as all racing is predominantly, but nitrous seems like the harshest of all fuel enhancers.

I have never seen anything like this turbo banshee before and from comments on another thread, I assumed this is a totally new turbo system designed specifically for 2 strokes. And thought Bomber should check it out since he usually has the best of the best, no matter what it takes.
The turbo lag for drag racers would be a concern in using with 4 strokes, but there's always a way to get aroung everything for a price.
This seemed like a greater advantage for less price possible opportunity.

My rotax will never leave me, but if I was a professional racer, I couldn't live without checking out what made that turbo banshee fly down the track.

Thanks for your professional feedback!

Maybe you could give some specifics please. I am trying to stay within the guidelines of the thread subject matter.

Nitrous seems like the harshest of all fuel enhancers.
That was true a few years ago in automotive industry, and certainly true a few months ago in the ATV industry. Lets face it, nitrous has a dirty name. The dirty name came from people trying to figure out the bottle pressure, and apply math to calculate how much extra fuel is needed to keep the system in balance. Because of the variables involved, builders seldom installed nitrous systems on ATVs because of the variable envinronmental temperatures that ATVs were in.

That has changed.

There are systems out there that truely regulate the nitrous. That means it flows the same from -30 degrees to over 100 degrees F. If the nitrous is constant, the fuel can be constant. If they are both constant, there is no issue with a too rich or too lean condition, or even variable HP. Its always the same good HP.

Just so you understand, Im not kicking turbos in the pants at all. I think they are one way of many ways to add fuel and oxygen to a motor. Which is exactly what N20 systems do - Nitrous is 2 parts oxygen and 1 part nitrogen. Once they enter a combustion chamber, the heat releases the oxygen from the nitrogen and its burned with fuel. The nitrogen delays the burn and exits the tail pipe and fertilzes your lawn.

The bad name comes from N20 Systems that add TOO MUCH nitrous (too much air), the system becomes lean, and you know what happens next. Once a regulated nitrous system is tuned, like a carb, it wont become lean on its own.

Ask Glenn about nitrous - and his Twisted Sister - We applied nitrous to it at 40 degrees. And tuned it in just two passes. That tuning will hold now regardless of outside temperateres, elevation or bottle pressure. It the whole thing weighs less than 5lbs! Not bad for a 40hp gain!

Scooby,

Give us some web site details about these bad bikes. 2 strokes don't seem to have any turbo lag, and they weren't that noisey, but maybe sound didn't catch up yet.

Sandbomber and 222 need to see these clips. Jacket, My 20mill won heads up at primm and runs 3,6 on motor!! It now has lost about 20lbs and adding about 55hp next week, so tell that turbo shee to come get him some!!!! LOL I might blow up but Im going run with the best of the best in La. to see where we stand and it all will be left in the dirt that for sure.

Sandbomber, the turbo that ran 3.62 or 3.65 (not sure) was a 350cc in a stock frame!!!!!!!!!!!

Not a U/SFPHBIS at all. In fact, I rarely stray from the subject matter of a thread to make observations but I just had to state something that seemed (to me) relitavely obvious. Not trying to bash your writing style but since you asked for specifics, It could be the long sentances of seldom used words some of which are not completely spelled out. Coupled with the lack of opening, closure or explanation of your subject matter that makes it necessary for the reader to read 2 times before he can figure out what is actually being said. Hence the "?" responses that you often receive. Very Raining Cloud like. But if you say that you are not him- which, bye the way you have not, I'm ok with that. Sorry for interrupting your erudition and sorry to Scoobie for distracting his thread.
