the last few times i have ridden my ds, i noticed a gas smell will riding...
i have an endcap and airfilter....any suggestions..
i seems to be running ok, could it be the jetting im still stock..i have had the endcap and k&N on for a while...the only thing i can think of is it has been colder than normal around 45-50 degrees affecting the jetting

No, the overflow is there to prevent it from spilling excess fuel into the motor. If you got a piece of junk in the needle seat, the float valve can't shut all the way and will continue to dump fuel into the carb. Once the fuel level gets high enough, it will dump out the overflows.
