A few of us here on the forum contacted Procom regarding the "wicked kick-back" problem. They agreed to refund my money if I sent the unit back. It was well worth it.
Purchasing the Vortex is worth the extra $275.

Runs a 730 kit from OMW with web109's and a 48mm lectron. It has some serious torque!

what exactly is the kickback? when ur starting and it cuts out and you can hear the starter still spinning or what? mine does that every once in a while with the stock CDI, havent been able to try out the new big gun one yet

Kickback happens when starting the motor. It starts to run, but then quits due to a ping. The ping or pre-ignition is caused from too much advanced timing in the CDI box at idle.

has anyone tried to increase the pilot jet considerably? the stock timing is 15 degrees at idle according to the specs under the seat, and it ramps up from there to full timing with RPM. if procom gets rid of the ramp up and gives full timing at idle, this may increase idle power quite a lot. if idle jetting is not increased it could ping.
