I had to tear open the front end of the Traxter for a gas leak issue. In doing so I had to pull the front consule out of the way. After putting things back together I went to start like any other time and all I got was a click of the starter and all the lights flahsing on the consule. The machine would pull start but would not elec start again. I jumpered across solenoid and it fired right off. Quick trigger finger casued me to buy and replace the solenoid, waste of $80 as it did not fix the problem. Took to the dealer I bought it from and they are telling me that the decompression unit has failed and that the starter needs to be rebuilt. Sounds like they are grasping at straws, isn't the decompression unit mechanical and if the starter were bad it should be bad if I jumper across the solenoid? Any ideas or similar experiences? Really appreciate the help, feelin' lonely without my wheels.
