that really sucks some1 else is having a prob with their rectifier or a simple thing as the choke being on could be causing it I am just about out of ideas I would think that you could just try messing with the idle and see if that helps any check to see if your headers are tight I had a problem with them being tight and the gaskets were bad and it was backfiring

The pilot controls the idle so check that and see if its clogged. If not go bigger on it. Check your air screw also. Screw it in all the way and then out 2 turns and see if that makes a difference. What did you do to the quad or has it ever run good with this carb?

needle is too lean, you are on the 2nd groove, otta be on 4th.
when you let off the throttle and it pops it is indeed a lean pop. this is commonly caused from mal-adjusted idle mix, however your needle being so lean also causes this so set the needle correctly and then see how it is before you screw with anything else.

the problem with it not wanting to return to idle is often times due to not enough throttle cable freeplay. the cable may be staying tight and not totally relaxing, you need to adjust the cable slack adjuster under the rubber boot next to the throttle housing on the handle bars such that the throttle lever moves about 1/4" before it actually starts moving the carb throttle. this way when you turn the bars and flex the cable it does not change the idle.

Also make sure your cable is lubed.I just spray some silicone spray down there.
Mine was sticking and i tore the carb apart before i figured out i had a dry and
dusty cable.
