Default Outty 800 top speed 70 MPH--Why?

Has anyone checked there speedometer against gps with stock tires? I heard they where right on. My brute force speedometer was 6 mph fast. So When it read 84 that one time, my outty may have been about as fast at 77. Both where down hill.

Default Outty 800 top speed 70 MPH--Why?

i have an outty650 and when i first got it(4hrs) iwas seeing 74-75 consistantly out of it now i'm only seeing 70(22 hrs). my dealer said that my clutches got grooved (and not letting the clutch shift out)when my clutch cover leaked water in and the belt slip. they put new clutch covers on and are looking into getting my clutch sheeves waranted. the thing is my clutch cover still leaked after they put a knew one on so i got some polaris air box clips on it and it worked

ps all my speeds were done with a big weel kit on it

what rpm should they run?

Regarding the speedometer sensor the old ones were magnatized and would attract metal filings thereby resulting in false readings. BRP has a new sensor that is not magnatized, the dealer installed one on my 07 650XT no more problems. Fixed under warantee.
