I think my new renegade does 128mph, really it does. NOT. If speed is really the only thing important to someone who brags about how fast there quad goes, then they need to rethink why four wheeling is fun, and it's not about how fast it goes down a blacktop road. Buy a car then. Anything that is meant to be ridden over rocks, and down rutted out trails, does not need to go any faster than 30 or 40+mph, I could see and open field, but even then, 60mph isn't fast enough? For those of you who are living in reality about how fast quads go whether it's an 800Outlander, 650DS, 450YFZ whatever the case, I think you see where I'm coming from. I don't think I've ever seen a YFZ, go down a rutted out rocky trail, obstructed with downed trees and two feet deep creeks go 80, 60 or even 40mph, where they belong. Do you know what's bound to hapen if you go down a blacktop road on an ATV doing 90mph or 80mph? I do and I don't suggest anyone recommend anyone doing it to see how fast their atv can go.

While I realize that some of my piers are retarded, not all people my age - I'm 15, for the record - are idiots. I'm sure some of the people you are talking about are adults, as well as some teenagers. While I love going fast ( I like the adrenaline rush ), I realize that quads do not go 90+ mph, unless they are modded up REALLY well - It is possible. But a stock bike, or a moderately modded bike, IS NOT GOING 80+MPH. My blaster will go 60-65 ish. That's realistic. The KQ and Outlander both do about 70. The 250s..I wouldn't say over 55 ish.

My point is that its unfair for people like me if you blame our entire generation just because some people are retarded.

Maybe they enjoy having sand and dirt throwed at them.LOL!

If speed wasn't important, why do aftermarket companies make sooooo much money selling pipes,filters,pistons,etc... Not to mention all the companies doing porting, strokers, and big bore kits.
Somebody is buying these parts, and I don't think they buy them to just go slow.LOL!

Obviously there are three different industries. You guys aren't taking that into consideration. There is the sport quad/racing industry, and there is the utility industry, and there is the trailing industry. All three need different things, therefore they all put money into different areas. The sporting/racing industry obviously remains mainly with the pipes, big bore kits, etc. The trailing and utility industries sort of are the same, as they both go for things like steering stabilizers, better suspension, and occasionally the same things as the sporting/racing industry. Obviously, speed IS important in all 3, whether you agree or not. How important, however, is the real question. Handling, and Comfort, in my opinion, are the other 2 main areas. You can feel free to object.

Sorry I had to reply to a few of these. Those companies that sell all that crap, do it because they know how many fools there are out there that will spend hundreds of dollars so they feel like there quad is just that much better, and/or faster than the next guy's quad. If you're actually competing in a sanctioned event that's a different story. I can't tell you how many people I know that feel like they have to put a pipe on there quad because that by itself makes it so much louder, I mean faster than the next guy. People stop fixating on whether or not your quad does 65 or 75.
