Default anyone heard any info on the can am 450

I scoured the internet looking for the spy photos of this 450 that is supposedly hitting showroom floors in 30 days and there are none that I can find. That tells me one thing...............almost nobody cares. If it was a hot item, magazines would pay hard cash for any kind of preview.

I believe it will be good, but they have obviously failed on the publicity end or there would be pictures all over the place. All this secrecy is designed to get people interested....................it is kind of like trying to play "Hide and Seek" when no one comes looking for you......... I guess I will believe it when I see production models on showroom floors..........

**** on it man, Bomb is a utility maker now, just like arctic cat. I'm surprised the DS is still on their list, but thank god it is.
as for a 450, I'm sick to death of hearing about it and waiting patiently for it to hit.

I'm really interested in finding out what kind of motor will be used, if anything actually shows up.
I've read up on the Aprilia 450 and 550 motors and found that they are for sale in limited supply. I saw a post in which someone has picked one up for an atv. Heres a linkMotors People are buying the 550s to put in go-carts. I'd like to pick one up and stuff it into a Cannondale chassis.
The 450 has dynoed at 48 RWHP stock. With exhaust, intake, mapping and head work it could see 60 horsepower to the wheels.

Nice motors they are, but when they release the 450, **NO SECRET, LATE LAST YEAR CAN-AM ANNOUNCED IT'S DEVELOPLEMT** it will have a single cylinder, if for nothing else it will be AMA legal as they do not allow multicylinders in the 450 class....

The only way you will ever see the Aprillia motor in a Can-Am is if they decided to replace the DS with an open class quad with the Aprillia 5.5 in it, and I have heard nothing about the existence of any DS 650 replacement, let alone any use of either Aprillia motor in any quad chassis.

I hope that we are close to finally seeing the 450, but the wait is driving me nuts!!! I just feel that this will be the quad to beat in the 450 class...

haha, I feel your pain Chris... but on the other hand there is no way my *** if fitting on a 450 for more than 5 minutes so it doesn't matter too much. Just wish the DS would transform into a 700 efi aluminum frame 400 lb tough as nails quad

Yeah, it's tough for the big guys since there's only been 2 real big quads, the DS and the Quadzilla. I guess you could go the Renegade route, but it is pretty heavy. That said, I rode a lightened up Outlander, basically a Rene with Outty plastic...It rides much better than I ever thought. Very fast, more nimble than I would have expected and while more roomy than the DS, feels more flickable if you could believe it...plus it had a Ron Wood massaged motor....that was a very powerful quad!!
