My transmission grinds when i hit a certain rpm in forward. It's at approximately 20-24km/h (12.5-15mph)
It grinds when accelerating when i pass through that RPM range/speed, and when i drive at that speed
It's really annoying because it's the speed that i ride trails at the most, and i dont want to damage my cvt tranny- cuz who knows how much that will cost to fix
Any suggestions to what it may be? has anyone else had this problem with a CVT-transmission quad? Should i change the transmission oil? its impossible to check the oil level, its either replace, or pray you have enough and good quality.
PS: how much do you think a stock front bumper will cost? $60 $100? I had a little accident last weekend when i hit a tree dead on doing almost 20mph. It crushed my front bumper but thankfully did not puncture the radiator. Should i just get the nice aluminum front bumper instead (it looks like some DG knockoff but says DS instead or DG)
Im really getting frustrated with this quad- dealer ripped us off, nerfbars were overpriced too and dont even look nice compared to the ds650 nerfs, its heavy, it has crappy suspension (which also resulted in a huge dentist bill), no power, and reliability- the CDI fried, the Ignition coil fried too, its costed 400 so far for labor and parts.... would have been cheaper to get a tried-and-true honda or zook 250/400 [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img]

nah, i dont like 400ex's unless they have been widened and suspension
only quads that i like are quads like the predator- cuz they are cheap, and dont need aftermarket suspension or the superlight 450's, but not a honda 450r cuz everyone has one of those- if those arent available, i'll settle for a modded z400 or 400ex
but crf250 kills them all [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] thats what i want- either that or a kx-f
edit: i jsut changed the gear oil already, and seems to be running fine
-i wish i hadnt put money into into it: 300 for nerfs, 300 for bumper, and the plastic is smashed on the front and loose on the back[look at my pics, it doesnt really look pretty], so im guessing i could only get $3000 canadian for it- that is a $2400 loss over whats it costed so far so i would rather not sell it yet until its worth only 1000- 10 years from now
I can afford to upgrade but i just need some good reasons [backed up with facts] to convince my parents to let me buy myself a new/new4me-but-used toy- if someone is really bored and has a broken quad and feels like writing an essay they could send it to me in a private message, i guess
