So i was out on a tour today and after a couple of hours of running really well my 2000 ds went sour. suddenly it started chokin out when i tried to give it throttle, it idles perfect but if you give it gas after about 3 seconds its like its running out of fuel. I havnt taken anything apart yet but could this be a fuel issue? also after it did this for a while i shut it off, wiggled the battery connections and started it back up it worked fine for maybe a mile down the road then it started again, which leads me to think it could maybe be electrical? any ideas or suggestions would be great thanks

Try running the bike with the gas cap off it sounds like the tank vent is plugged.

if it is the stock carb it sounds like the rubber diaphram may have a hole. it is under the round cap on top of the carb just pull the 4 screws to check

Check the battery - first make sure both cables are tight, then check the charge of the battery. The DS will idle for ever but the ignition will not advance with a poor(dead) battery or a bad connection to it.
