Run the Woods box. If you're running stock cams, you won't need to be revving high enough RPMs to hurt the motor. My stockers quit making real power way before 8000, and thats way before you would break something.

Also, to the guys who have replaced a sprag gear before, how long did it take and how much money did it cost for parts? Mine is about done, I'm going to replace it over my thanksgiving break, before it hurts my starter any.

 

every thing is stock exept the exhaust and the cdi. i dont have the money to change the cams or springs.

how many rpm can you run the ron woods with stock cams springs?
and what happens when you go over 8500 rpms?

 

According to RWR nothing will happen for a short burst (like a miss shift) but don't hold it above 8500 rpm and you will be fine!

 

I have put tons of hours on my Woods cdi over 3 years w/o a hiccup and no problems with it not having a limiter either.
