pretty much what it says i have a 2000 650 ds and i can only get it to run while i hold the start button it will idle and rev up but as soon as i let off the start button it cuts off?? i figured a wire or something melted and looked it over and couldnt find nothing soo any help would be much appreciated

Probably needs a battery, or at least a charge.

 

yea it does need a battery but i thought i could get it to idle with it hooked up to the charger

ima go get a battery 2morro hopefully that will fix it

 

Sounds like that will do it, these bikes need a good battery to run.

 

i got a new battery in and it runs good now i got this problem where it likes to kick out of gear and sounds like some one trying to shift with out a clutch 1st gear goes then i hit second and as long as i aint hard on it it will go idk any of this sound like anything youve heard of??

 

Yes, you have bent shift forks. You have to remove the eng and split the case to get to them. Do a search on a member here that goes by Hightower, he has info and pics on how to do this.
