Yes You Can, I Have A 2000 DS-650. Been Trying To Hook Mine Up. I Tried To Hook It Up To The Coil Wire, And The Spark Plug Wire With No Luck. I Bought A Used Tachometer Out Of A Skidoo Snowmobile, Had The Rotax 600 Engine. The Green Wire Goes To Ground, And The Yellow (Signal Wire) Wire Hooks Up To One Of The Three Yellow Wires Located On The Left Side Of The Engine, Right Under The Gas Tank. I Think Those Are The Wires Are Coming From The Stater (Stator). Identified By The White Cylindrical Plastic Connector (Looks Like A Small Barrel). It Doesn't Matter Which Wire It Goes To. Just Be Sure To Connect It To Only ONE Of The Three Yellow Wires. And You Should Be Fine. If Your Looking For A Tach Like The One I Have In Mine, I Do Have An Extra One. If You'd Be Interested.
