should I buy an 07 outlander 650 H.O. 2-up or keep my 05 brute force 750?
Oh man- check this out...
I have two cash offers for my quad- at $4700. It's an 05 Kawasaki Brute Force 750 with 27" mud lites, 50" plow & heated passenger 2-up seat.
I found a 2007 can-am outlander lx 650 max H.O. 2-up passenger atv 4 hours up north for $5500. It has 2500 miles on it- comes with a 60" plow & 27" bearclaws. Looks real nice.
I was full speed ahead- untill I became frugal with my money and got queezy about shelling out another $1000 and 8 hour round trip drive... I could scrape together the $1k but.... do I want to? My wife says she's comfy in the bolt on 2-up I'm using now. She might go riding with me 5 times a year- and I'd miss the heart-stopping bottom end on my brute force 750 for sure.
the guy said he'd hold it till saturday- I'm loosing sleep over it.
any thoughts ???

Keep the devil you know. I buy used all the time and never bought a bad one (luckly) but the risk is there every time you change up. I changed up from a 2wd 250 to a 350 4x4 then to a newer 450 4x4 and then to a 500 with IRS,and much more power, they were all a upgrade from the last ATV.
In your case a the 650 is not much of a upgrade from your 750 if at all,so why risk buying a strange ATV if the current one has no issue?

You won't be dissapointed with the 2 up chassis over a one up with a 2 up seat, which I think is a bad idea on hills and such. The Can Am is a really good machine, and the 650 twin makes mad power, and the stretched chassis makes for more comfort, more stability, and you can still ride it one up whenever you want.

I hear what you're saying- my brute only has 388 miles on it, and I think both are about the same hp. The brute has a stronger bottom end I'm sure, but you can't beat the comfort & stability of the can am's extra 8" wheel base when I have a passenger on board-
Although, come to think of it... I've really never had a stability issue with the brute force either, with the rear shocks mounted so far back on the chassis, the passenger is sitting above the axle, not behind it.

Pay more money for a 650 ATV with 2500 miles vs your 750 with 388 miles.

Does your Brute have EFI. If not it is a no-brainer. I think most people would concide that the Outlander is the better machine. As a Can Am owner (not a wanna be lurker) I have good experience with the Outlander and would not trade mine for anything, except a new Max with the dual rate power steering. The friends I have with Max''s are more than happy with the stabilty the added length gives them and they don't seem to have any trouble on the tight trails. My personal opinion is that riding 2 up on a machine designed for single rider is just asking for trouble. I would do the trade just from the safety/stability aspect.
