RIMS
#3
I think DSJockey has it right, the kenda tires don't protect the rims the way a better tire does. We just don't feel all the rocks that some of us[me included] hit because the suspention absorbs the hit. 3TV just seems to do a better job of avoiding the rocks than most of us.

No, Douglas .190 (Red Label) rims are good quality for average riding. For me, I hit A LOT of rocks on my first outing, in fact within the first 2 hours of riding I had dented two of my rims notably. I recently purchased a set of (4) Douglas .190 Red Label Rims with re-enforcing rins installed by OMF, as well as 22/23" Holeshot XCT tires. These re-enforced rims and larger tires should be all I ever need to keep any and all rocks from harming my rims.
If you have the finances to buy them, they look awesome as well as perform a function.

The douglas .190 Rims with inner and outer rings were $94.99 and 99.99 each. I believe the rears were 94.99 since they are a 9" and the front are 10".
You can order them with only the outer rings if you want, they cost about $25 less. You can also buy rings to weld into your stock rims as well. I would recommend anyone get the rims with inner and outer rings, they should hold up to most anything (and look awesome!)
I paid about $700 total for 4 rims with inner and outer rings and 4 Holeshot XCTs all mounted.
If you run the front 10" rims with inner rings, you'll have to either remove your front fenders, or with only a slight modification to your mounting brackets on the fenders you can keep them and run the rings. Currently I am running with no fenders, but I plan to modify the fender brackets so they will fit with the rings installed, so that I can ride with or without them, whatever I choose.
