Does anyone have any tips on installing the clutch springs. I bought the pami springs and am going to be installing them, but I don't have a manual on the DS yet. So, if you have torque specs and any install instructions or tips please let me know.

Thanks
Bat

Bat-nothing too complex about replacing the springs. I just put in Don's springs on my stock DS and it feels much better, very solid engagement. Although its a bugger getting neutral now as the clutch never really seems to disengage completely.

Every bolt you need to remove is torqued to 89 inch/lbs. I somehow twisted off two of the clutch spring bolts though. Don't know if I had a torque wrench problem or what, but after reseting it and replacing the bolts all went smooth. Keep track of which bolt is from which hole as there are a couple different sizes in the case.

My next trip to Sand Mountain or Utah's Little Sierra, I'll look you up. Dumont looked awesome.

My HD springs from Team Pami does the same thing. I also had a water pump seal failure shortly after installing this springs and a new clutch. I know it doesn't have anything to do with the springs nor clutch but as a reminder to everyone to check your oil level and color before every ride.

Just as orvsr4me said - the shop manual says everything you need to remove and re-tighten is 89 lbf/in, or 10N/m. The water pump cover, clutch housing, and clutch spring bolts - all of it.

hurycne, the shop manual is pretty useless. if you need torque specs on anything in particular. i put them on my website. if its not there let me know. as hightower said everything to get to the clutch as well as the clutch spring bolts are 89 in/lbs.
