With stock setup, would the DS drag better on asphalt or gravel rd?

I've got a friend who is really dying to drag me on his new raptor. He probably weighs 50lbs less than me. I have full confidence in my machine and take off skills, and don't expect to blow him away, but to be ahead.

What do you think the result would be on both surfaces with our stock tires?

Neither of us have engine mods, although I'm going to try to fine tune my carb because I'm running a little lean.
My tires are worn about half way down, so I expect no wheelies on the gravel Rd.

Thanks for the input!!

Race him on asphalt! if you race him on gravel he would probly win. His stock tires are way better than your stock kendas.

Race him on asphalt, the longer the race the better for the ds.

I never realized how lousy the stock Kendas were until I raced a Raptor on a gravel road. The third race I managed a tie but I was hanging of the back and my tires were still spinning. Then the Raptor broke.

I agree abouththe asphalt. The Raptor wheelies pretty easy so you'll have an advantage right there. It's harder for him to get a good launch without having to let off from a wheelie.

Let us know how it goes.

Its next to impossible for a DS to beat any Raptor with the Kendas, on dirt, sand gravel or otherwise. They have the worst traction of any tire I've ever encounterd, on any surface. Pavement is your only chance....unless he's like way bigger than you are...

Bad660, I just want to say thanks for being honest. I think you are about the only Raptor owner that will actualy admit that he got beat by a DS. Not at all poking fun I just think it is cool when someone is honest. You D man.

I would always beat my brother DS on dirt when we were stock. Never raced on pavement. The Raptor would have a hard time keeping the front end down for sure. A rolling start would be the Raptors best chance on pavement. Now that we have mods, he wins some and i win some. The more mods we do the better the DS seems to get. My changes lately seem to be hurting more than helping. LOL Lately no matter what I do he is winning the drags, and he hasn't even gotten his rev limiter, yet.
