DS Upshift Problem??
#1
Has any one else had a problem up shifting there DS and what was the cause. When try to upshift with the clutch it does not engage in to the next gear every time. But if I shift without the clutch it shifts up fine or if I put a little pressure up on the shift lever before disengaging the clutch that seems to work also.
Does any one have any thoughts on this problem.

Do you have a problem upshifting in all gears or just across the neutral gap? When my DS was new I also thought it shifted kind of stiff (compared to my prev. Banshee) I do not know if I got more used to it or it loosened up but I have not had a problem.
There is another easy thing to try as with all new bikes I have always had to adjust the position of the shifter, sometimes it takes a few times to get it just right, make sure the clutch is disengaging at the right time for your own shift habits.
Hope this helps,Scott

Is this a new problem or are you new to the bike. The thing I've noticed after years of Hondas is that I had to re-train my foot to shift harder. That and these bikes just don't shift as smooth as a Honda. Hopefully the problem is with your technique and not your bike.
In the case of preloading the shifter you are very aware of how much pressure you are putting on the shifter whereas most of your shifting would be automatic.
