Ok, I'm fixin to pick up my new DS650, and was wondering what I need to get for it, and what everbody uses, as far as Oil, and Sparkplugs, and any other junk.

I also need just some basic information on what to do, or not to do, or techniques, or just whatever you wanna post for me. I'm basically looking for info I can use.

Well, I want to do fast trail riding, and I like to do wheelies, so I was thinking of a six-pack rack so I don't tip the DS over backwards. I also do some drags, but nothing organized, just play drags to see who's faster.

I use just regular NGK DR8EA for plugs. As for oil I use Silkoline Race Lube 10w40 but any good "motorcycle" oil will do. I use a semi synthetic due to the wet clutch, some guys use a full synthetic and have good luck with that too. Maxima "chain" wax for the chain. Also get a Pami or Ron Wood CDI if you like to do drags. The rev-limiter sucks and that is a sure way to lose a drag race! Enjoy!

For fast tail change your tires too ITP XCT Holeshots 22 inc tail rears and 23 inch tail front or tires like that. Get a new chain roller the stock one will go and a Pipe and K&N air filter.

Adam, did you sell that Polaris.I am glad you are steping up to the DS 650.Be careful, the DS is a whole new animal.I use Honda HP4 semi synthetic oil in my DS.This is a list of things to do,to unleash the beast. 1st pipe and filter, and remove air box lid and rejet. 2nd get some better tires. If you dont get the Baja,I would recomend the Ohtsu's.The Kendas are good for playing and sliding around, but the Ohtsu's have the hook up. 3rd get a new cdi box.It will let you be in a better part of the power band when you shift. Congratulations on your new DS,and have fun!!!! Clif....

Hey dude, nope, I haven't gotten my DS650 yet, and Yes, I am going to get the Baja, but I sold my Scrambler, so it's just a matter of days, just checkin to see what I should get.

I think I am going to get a modded end-cap from BadBombardierDS650. He had one for sale, and I pm'd him. what do you think about that for starters? I also plan on a K&N
