WIscrambler,
Ok .. Thats what I didnt understand what you were meaning by the hp and 200 more rpms. Yes what your saying makes since. I also belive that the Baja will make more power right after the shift. But another question is will the baja pull strong in that higher rpm before the shift or will it start to fall on its face above 7700? It probley wouldnt. I wish I could see a dyno chart of a stock DS motor with out a rev limiter to see how long past the stock Rev limiter a Ds motor will hold its power band. I would figure it should have a pretty long power band considering the BMW street bike the motor came from had a 9300 rpm rev limiter. I wonder If I could buy the BMW rev box for my DS?

Peak HP for stock DS is at 6700, then it starts dropping, I've seen three charts from different sources. One source is the CT Racing website - go check it out. Aftermarket CDI's, at least the RWR and Pami, have the timing advanced further than stock to increase the peak HP rpm, but I've not seen a Dyno chart for those. I'll let you know in a few weeks, I'm gonna Dyno mine.
The 15 pounds is hardly a matter, I've put riders on my DS that weigh 20 and 30 pounds less than me with no noticable loss in speed or accelleration. The same results in 100 yrd and top end drags were achieved every time, repeatedly. Must be the brute torque she cranks out I guess.
If the same tires are worn on both bikes, I don't see how the speed and accelleration could be any different, except for rider skill.
