In drag racing at about 500 ft how much a difference will the straight paddle design vs the V design make? Maybe 4-5 lengths?

Bought the Sand Sharks just after buying the quad. I picked up some Extreme Haulers 20X10X10-8 paddles recently and let me say, the paddles did more good than the pipe, K&N, jetting combined.

The Sand Sharks are no good. I cannot beleive the difference the straight paddles make. I can go up (real steep) hills in second that I would have to shift down to first to get up. I can race up comp hill in 3rd rather than needing to shift to second.

Straight paddles are the best.

Hurycne,
I really like my 20/10/10 10paddle edge's, They work very well for the dunes and trails at LS. But in a Drag-race, Nothing can compete with the 22" Haulers. And if you ever achieve that "Magical 65hp) you will want 22' Taller Haulers.

Yes I have the Sand Sharks too. They are ok for duning but I try to stay away form the steeper hills. Switching to a straight design improves the hook up that much? Anyone have a quad length estimate? Who else has actually did the switch?

With big bore quads you will just spin the angled paddles. Also the Roosters spin hard on big quads, I saw a guy at Atoka with a Baja on Roosters & he was in 5th gear at the finish (100 yards) he said he was hitting the rev limiter in every gear. He put on some Haulers & was in 3rd gear at the finish.

JMO but with a big quad the only tire to get is the 22x11x10 Extreme Haulers. Mine turn in the dunes just fine with the 21x7x10 Mowhawks on front.

When he was running the Roosters I had 4 lenghts on him with my Raptor, When he put on the Haulers we were dead even. That was 100 yards on a well grommed sand track.

Hurycne... I started with 20-11-10 sand sharks, let's just say they were less than a good tire (tihs&lt for hill shooting or drag racing. They were ok for sand surfing. Then I got 20/11/10 9 paddle sand devils, I tore over half of the paddles off in two trips. Now I have 22/11/10 10 paddle extreems, they are great for shooting the hills and drags, but you have to work hard when surfing. 8 trips so far and I think I will stay with the extreems, they work the best for me all around, I just have to use more throttle control when surfing.

Just my opinion.

Hinglbybs,
Where did you buy your extremes from? I've looked all over and all I can find are the regular haulers. Sure would like to get a set and you have just the size I'm looking for. Oh, how much did you pay....if you don't mind me asking.

JSsDS, You can get 22x11x10 Extreme Haulers from Jim's Sand Toys They are in Waynoka, OK just outside the gate at Little Sahara. They had them in stock last week. I think they were $248 a pair on Douglass black lables. Their web site isn't finished but their phone number is on it.

There's nothing funner than spinning v-paddles in tight donuts, carving arches in bowls, and just plain having fun. They are worthless in a drag or big hill shooting, compared to a straight paddle. The skat-trak edge is the most aggressive, and do a lot better dragging than most people think in the 10 paddle version, but still not as well 10 paddle haulers! I run vees on everything but my DS. They're a blast on a 350X!

Sounds like experiences for v paddles are less than perfect. Thanks Moose for the info about the 100yd sand drags. How about the differences in the Edge v-paddles vs straight haulers?? Any thoughts??
