I was on Jegs (auto parts) web page and saw this Fram Sure Drain Oil Change System. Here is the link

I would think something like that would work really well in making oil changes a whole lot cleaner.

Anyone know what size the oil drain bolt on the oil tank?

Someone else did that. I was going to, went out & bought one & then noticed how strong the magnet on the stock drain plug is. I felt better having a magnet on the drain because of the wet clutch & all. I ended up just putting the Fram thing on my truck

3/8"NPT is the size of the drain hole threads on the tank, not sure about the crankcase drain. NPT being National Pipe Thread - standard fittings at any hardware store.
I put a heat resistance teflon sealed chrome plated brass ball valve - 1/4"NPT threaded into a brass 3/8":1/4" reducer bushing inplace of the tank drain plug, and removed the handle. WHen I change oil, I screw a plastic hose barb with 2' of clear hose into the valve finger tight, and open with a wrench. When riding, I keep a plastic plug in the valve finger tight.

That is exactly what I did. You do lose the magnet from the plug, but the oil changes are a breeze now.
