Riding without heelguards?
If you've got your heelguards removed, do this - get on the bike, put your foot on the ground behind the peg, and gently roll the bike forward in neutral. Seriously, do it, 'cause you're not going to be able to imagine the result without actually experiencing the axle coming over the calf while the foot is in the dirt. Now imagine this at riding speed.
The possibility of your foot getting in this position is very unlikely, but possible enough to warrant consideration. All other bikes like the R's and EX's you never see heelguards on, have nowhere near the open space that the DS has behind the peg.
Just something to consider. I put mine right back on after getting a taste of this scenario, and I also have the Roll pegs.
