MY dad has and 87 qaudzilla with a FMF pipe porting. ram valve wiseco pison DG nerfs ITP red label back wheels and 20/12/10 blackwater rear tires he also has a 40mm Keihn PWK carb with a K&n filter and outer wear and a works rear shock. he just got the porting, carb and filter. he has only rode it 2 with the new mods and hasn't had a chance to go to our local riding spot ST joe state park in park hills missouri to race banshee's and I haerd there was a DS650 there now and only highly moded banshee's could touch him in a drag race. how would my dads LT compare to the DS in a drag race?

Apparently you have been misinformed. The DS in stock form is barely faster in a drag race than a stock banshee. It is no match for a piped banshee. Anyone that says the DS blows away a highly modified banshee doesn't know what they are talking about.

Your Dad's zilla should have no problem with a DS.

PS - Blackwaters on a zilla????? Interesting.

Sorry SandmanBlue, but I think that is it you that is misinformed. Granted, a stock DS would have a hard time with a Banshee that had about $2,000.00 in mods. Ever since I got my DS I have been taking Banshees. Now if I race a 3k Banshee they will pull on me at first, but when I hit second the tables turn for the rest of the race. Maybe it is just that the people I race can't drive, but after about 10 different people I am starting to doubt that.

b(250rman): I am also very curious of how a quadzilla would do against a DS. Let me know if you find out. SandmanBlue does have a point. With the mods that your dad has he souldn't worry too much about a stock DS.

Modified Banshees could possibly give us a run for our money on flat ground. We always race up steep hills where banshees fall on their faces. On flat ground we may have problems hooking up.

I would like to go to Yuma when a big variety of riders are there. I am not sure we even saw an LT500. Anyone know when is best to meet lots of people there?

The LT500 VS the DS650?
These are stock HP figures at rear wheels.

The LT has 51hp and weights 392lbs.
The DS has 45hp and weights 450lbs.
The banshee 39hp and weights 386lbs.

How many pounds a machine has for 1 hp unit.
LT 7.68LBS/Hp
DS 10.0LBS/hp
Banshee 9.89LBS/hp
Just to see how close these quads are heres more
400ex. 375LBS/28hp 13.39LBS/hp
300ex 377LBS/21hp 17.95LBS/hp
Blaster 320LBS/17.9HP 17.87LBS/hp
Warrior 397LBS/24hp 16.54LBS/hp
You can see they are all fairly close, but a stock banshee has a better power to weight ratio than a DS650. Keep in mind there are many other figures, like traction, rider skill, and most important rider weight. If one rider weights 100Lbs more then another, that is a large disadvantage.

The DS 650 is rated around 45HP at the wheels. Engine HP is around 54, not 45.
