Johnnyairtime-- Doesn't the oil tank share two mounting bolts with the gas tank and cover? I had mine all apart in May but don't remember what all it involved.
Bigbaja-- I'd use joshiepoo's idea and get a machine shop to fix your stem. I did mine myself and it turned out pretty good, I think. Plus the wait for a machine shop to do it should be minimal.

Bigben,
The oil tank has it's own mounting. Two bolts up at each top side... and one down low. My gas tank is an IMS... so I don't remember the stock tank and if it mounted there or not. The IMS only uses two bolts on the rear with a lip that catches under the frame in the front.
I've got most everything apart. However I didn't completely remove the bar controls from the bars. Nor did I completely remove the dash and wiring. I'm going to do that now. I also have a custom mount for my HID light in front of the oil tank... so removing or moving the oil tank is a pain in da ****. But I'm going to get out my 10mm again and start moving all kinds of stuff. I think the more I remove the better.... however I feel the new stem may be even harder to put in so I might as well take it all apart now. I hope I never bend a stem again! This is worse than pulling a motor to me.
