My best suggestion is to go with the full banks power pack. It's a bit spendy but it is well worth it. It will give huge gains in power torque and a modest increase in gas mileage when towing.
www.bankspower.com
to give you a couple of examples.
here's some of banks' claims...
ford powerstoke 7.3L turbo diesel - top gains of +104 hp, +224 lb-ft torque and 14% improved towing mileage,
ford 6.8L (v10) - best gains of +56 hp, +67 lb-ft torque, and 7% more miles to the tank-full.
These were by far the best bolt on performance upgrade for the buck.
check out the trans command (for fords) and the smart lock trans brake also...

Jet - I used to read the Ford Truck forum but there were too many v10 vs. diesel arguments for me. I'm don't go there often anymore. I'll probably check in again when it's time to lift mine. If I keep spending money on this Raptor though, I won't have any $$ left to spend on my truck!!
AZ - I have a chain if you can't find yours. I used it to pull an empty 5 ton dump truck out of a ditch during the last snow storm, it's a good strong chain:-)

i like azsand approach put the hammer down were wasting riding time. i was going to go and look at new trucks today but after reading this doesn't look like it matters what you drive it is going to cost a little to get there. after reading this i feel a lot better about my vortec 454, never great , never below 10 but i do a camper, trailer so i think that is a lighter load.

Wow, no Chevy talk on this post. I gotta throw in that my 5.3L 4x4 extended cab Chevy gets 19mpg highway with no trailer, and 16mpg when pulling a 14' flatbed with 3 quads. This is with stock exhaust and filter. I'm so glad I got rid of my Ram and got this truck!
Oh, and I calculate this based on miles traveled divided by gallons used.

Has anyone heard the rumor that gas could get to $3.00 a gallon this summer. You guys with diesels will probably start making your own fuel from fast food fryer grease.
