where should i go with my gearing to beat a banshee?

all my buddies have different quads. from 400ex,z400,banshee,canondale. none are stock. they all have pipes plus the banshee is slightly built(30 over piston, toomey pipes, delta reeds, boost bottle,22 holeshots). we mostly ride trails but love to due the drag aginst each other. the fastest bike is the banshee at 80mph with the can not far behind.the rest seem to bearoud 65-70mph.the banshee takes the canondale by 2 bike links. i have not raced any of them yet this year. over the winter i have added 22" razors, woods cdi, alba open end exhaust, dial a jet, removed the air box lid and rejetted. i would love alot of torque in the trails but would like to see if i could take the banshee and canondale in a drag. i know the can is geared up from stock. what would be a good starting point for gearing. im at stock right now, should i go up or done. also its been 15 deg outside so i have not yet had a chance to ride my new moded machine.

A Banshee bored .30 over with toomeys?....and your looking for gearing that would help you beat it?
I think fantasy island might be a good place to start......

i was going to say gearing isnt going to help ya get around the banshee, i too have a friend with a banshee mildly moded, not bored but he has done some stuff to it, i hoping that 12.5:1 piston and big cams will do the trick, i had already done exhaust, cdi, carb, but now i think ill have him in the bag, if he'll race me that is, hes the kinda guy that doesnt want to lose

saint650 Get read of the stock carb. The Mikuni TM42 or Mikuni TM45, for all out drag racing the 45 or the 42 for better tail riding both willout perform the stock.

saint650,
for me @ 200lb.one tooth up in the front was 5.4 mph gain and one down in the rear was 2.66 mph.the carb mount k&n was a 3 mph gain top end.i went from73 mph to 80 mph with a 37r and k&n put me at 83 mph top end.i depends how far your racing to.if your running a good ways the 37r and 17f will put you at abot 89 mph. and a pipe and carb and you will run close to 95 mph .the cdi didn't give me one mph untill i built my motor.but i rev's pretty good now,but in the 1/4 on pavement.each tooth down in the front gave me a .30 quicker time.this is what gearing did for me.maybe it will help you.james

thanks for all you input. i radared mine this week end at 88mph in 5th gear. i was only able to rev to 6800-7000 rpm. i can beat him in a very long run but it takes me to long to get their. evenif i droped my top speed down to 81 i would still have him on top end.i just need to get their quicker. how much of a difeerence will droping to a 15 tooth fron help my acceleration. acording to the calculator i should still be able to hit 85 if i can reach 8500 in fifth gear.
