Default rubber boot gone bad

the rubber boot that goes from the carb to the intake on my DS started to crack and leak enough to make it run like sh*t... i noticed it pretty fast so it did nothing to the motor, but can i just use 3M SUPER SILICONE SEALANT on it to fill in the cracks? i bet it will work right?

GREAT Question!!!

I've got 3-4 extra made from 2.25" fuel filler hose (the hose that goes between the orifice where you put the dispenser nossel and your gas tank on your truck/car/SUV...)...cheap stuff from any parts dealership. Oh yeah thanks to Scott...make that 5 including the stocker!

Do you run a "carb mount" or "in the box" filter with that filler hose?

carb mount... i know the carb is bouncing around cause its got no more support. what i think i am gonna do is let the sillicone dry, and fab up a braket to keep the carb from jibbin and bonkin around. i think than the boot wont break no more
