Default Kazuma 150 mkII

I am new to your forum and I have just ordered the Kazuma 150 MKII and the Kazuma 50 meercat. I have read many of the forums and have really enjoyed them. (especially the one with the powerbands) My question to anyone who might know is are these the same as the Redcat's and the Yamoto's or anything else and how much luck has anybody actually had with them. I read dirtforashirts with the yamoto and he makes them sound like they will be just fine. They are for my wife and daughter. Any recent information would be much appreciated. I have not received them yet and am kind of looking for an early intro to them. I look forward to responding with you all and will keep you posted on my findings with them. Thanks for any help.

Redcat is made by Kazuma but Yamoto is a different company. I have the Redcat rfx 110 for my son and with a little bit of tweaking in the suspension department it has been a great quad so far. The meercat is a very popular little quad. The Kazuma and Yamoto are getting more and more popular in the US market. They have been very reliable so far. I dont think you will be dissapointed with your choice.

Thanks for the input, it is really appreciated. Are you familiar with everyone saying they come with fish oil in them? Does the 110/150 have seperate gear oil and crankcase oil? I should receive mine by monday so I still have time to learn. Also do these have this intake restrictor plate that I keep reading about on the other brands??

Thanks again for the help

Welcome to the forum Turbomike, I first heard of fish oil back in the early 70's about japanese bikes. The theory was that petroleum was so expensive in japan that they would make oil from fish, fairly plentiful in japan. It would save them money on items exported. Was it true. I would swear that the fork and shock oil, that was in both my 82 480 and 85 cr500(my first new bikes) was made from fish. Smelled horrible. The stuff that came out of my wifes yamoto was fresh, thin and cloudy. Smelled funny but not fishy. I never started it with it in. It is a fairly inexpensive form of preventive maintainence in my opinion. I cant imagine that the oil is of too high of quality no matter what it was made from. MWQ

my 11 yr. old son managed that. jumped it about 2 ft. in air
talked with people at raceway and they are sending us a complete new motor/tranny assem. seems we had a problem to begin with because it took about half throttle to get to move and when you let off it was like somebody lightly applied the brakes.
the guy at raceway says they now have an upgraded tranny and gear set installed and is "supposed" to have a heavier tranny caase. sounds like a problem in past for them?
son is average rider for age and is 5'1" tall wheighs about 125
if anyone knows who sells a wheel spacer kit for this machine please let me know. this machine is very tippy even with the new +2" a-arms i will be widening another 3" each side in front with custom fabrication work. will be making a bolt on kit when is tested to satisfaction

Thank you guys again for all of the great input. fxdwg03, are they sending you an entire new motor and tranny or just a case and you have to rebuild it? This is kind of scary because my wife is 5'1' and weighs about 105. She is pretty rough on stuff though, not scared of 4 wheelers at all and loves to jump. I was figuring on changing the oil anyway just because of what I have been hearing. Will the honda CN4 be o.k.?? (10-40) or is everyone just using regular 10-40?? Getting scared maybe wishing I had gone with a 250ex.$$$$$$$

they are supposed to be sending me a complete tranny/motor combo to install. seems the early 2005 rfx 150 mkII came with 2004 motor assembly.
We are supposed to get updated components on this next unit. The only thing I am supposed to have to do is change the carb from old one. I called them this AM and spoke with john from raceway ATV and he says they dont have the new units in yet but hopefully by end of this week to early next week. He also mentioned we are on a list for this assem. Anyway the machine should hold up fine for your wife. My son is a very aggressive rider and all else has held up well so far.
I run Valvoline 10w-40 in the engine and a high temp gear lube in the rest, being a full auto-unit theres going to be alot of friction produced which in turn creates heat to match.
I brought the atv into work today and am building wheel spacers for the rear ,3" per side in rear. also have designed bolt-in A-arm extenders for the front, another 3" per side. will be building them today after work. will let you all know how they work out.
