im a pretty good wrench and wont be reiding much or really hard just me and my girlfriend out on some trails.. I think i may have found somewhere that has them in stock a little closer to me (hes in honesdale P.A.)..So we'll see.

I've got the vx and the dpx a few weeks ago. The xv is quite a bit faster . Both run very well. The xv width at 36" is too narrow and spacers are a good idea , I added 4" to the rear. The turning radius is not very good on the vx , they welded stops at the front ,which I am going to remove. the dpx does not have this prob and turns well. The last problem I see is the position of the foot brake. It's set out too far, right at the middle of the right foot peg you tend to hit it while riding.The dpx foot brake is set in close to the body and is fine .The dpx has only 1 problem , the shaft for the reverse shifter runs directly over the oil dip stick/ oil fill location , the only way to add oil is to remove a bracket that supports the shaft and flex the shaft over so you can pull the dip stick out- it's a major pain in the ***. There is a small round window in the case where you can see the oil level. I don't see any quick fix for this. I only have a few hours of riding on both so I don't know about durability issues yet. Overall I think these are both pretty good quads for the price.

mconner -- I just received my DPX 200 a couple of days ago and agree that the oil dipstick is in a terrible place. Have you found a fix for this? Also, where is the engine oil drain plug so that the oil can be drained and then changed.

Haven't found a fix for the shifter problem. I think the only way to fix it is to fabricate a new shifter rod. the drain pulg is next to the foot shifter on the side of the motor at the bottom big silver bolt head .

need help just order one of the boys the vx-200 this is my first knock off bike and I'm alittle scared to tell you the truth. Couple of questions spacers for the front and rear or just rear, what kind and were to buy. Everyone keeps talking about lock-tight (lock-tight everything??)
Any help on this and I mean any is greatly appreciated I'm a fish out of water with this one.

On the VX-200, after installing the front wheels and hubs, remove the tire/rim assembly (lug nuts) and install dished out - basicly rotate the tire/rim 180 degrees and reinstall it. As far as the rear wheel spacers, there are different options available. The stud extenders are cheaper but will require some modifications to the wheel hub - grinding. The spacer plates are a little more money but should bolt right on. I believe Raceway has them. If not check out DennisKirk.com. - However they will not have a listing for Redcat, you will have to measure off the bolt pattern to order the spacers. I would get some hours on the atv first, depending on your riding habits you may or may not need the wheel spacers. As far as Locktight, there are different grades - do not use the red unless you plan on using heat to remove the bolt at a later date. I belive the blue is what you are looking for. Some of the bolts that are going to need locktight are anything that is going to see considerable vibration - exhaust hanger bolts etc. Just keep an eye on the quad for the first few rides, it will let you know what will need the locktight. There is a website that has assembly instructions for one of these atvs. It's either Redcatmotors.com or Boreem.com. Good luck. If you have any issues, this forum is very helpful.

got the vx200 runs desent now upgrade questions like pipe exchange for one and can the plastic be switch out with yamaha raptor plastic. Kid already cracked the left front fender. Question 2 were in the world is the oil drain plug is it the big bolt on the left side of the motor or the bolt underneath the bolt underneath is impossible to get to because of the skid plate the the two holes pre-drilled don't line up with it.

It is the 17mm bolt dead center, and it is a bear to get to. You are right it does not line up with skid plate at all. If you were trying to reach it from the right side try switching to the left side by the foot rest there is more clearance there. Hope you can get to it.

I believe there is a drain on the lower left side of the engine crankcase. I will look at mine tonight. I think when you look at the case you will see it. It is different than the cover bolts.
