Default Redcat VX110 Starter problems

I recently received two VX110's. One is working well with no issues, the other has now failed to start and it just clicks when you press the start switch.

At first I thought it might be a dead battery because the starter was starting to lag some. I swithed batteries, and I still just get a clicking sound. Is it the starter? or the starter cellinoid?

It might be a wiring issue as well. The Reverse and Neutral lights were messed up. I matched up the wires in the way it makes sense to a normal person and sure enough it was wrong.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

simple to check the starter , get a piece of heavy gage wire and jump across the starter solenoid, if it starts or turns over then i wouldn't rule out the battery, if it doesn't turn over then look to make sure their's not a loose connection on the starter. did you put the battery's on a charger before installing? thats a must do

Default Redcat VX110 Starter problems

I did put a fresh charge on battery before starting it. The starter worked initially, and all I get now is a clicking when I push the start switch. I am pretty sure it is the starter, I loosed the bolts on the housing so I could see if the starter with spin when activiated, and it does not spin.

I recieved a new starter and hooked up the plug to it, and without it installed I tryed and see if it would spin when activiated. It does spin.

So how do a get the old starter completely out? The gear has a chain on it and I can not position it to disengage the chain. I have the three bolts holding the starter on removed, and I have the starter unplugged.

Not sure of what to do now. Any help would be appreciated.

I was able to get the starter on, but I am still just getting the clicking sound and I am unable to get the engine to turn over.

Any help would be appreciated.

Ok, well I finally got the everything to work. The guide for the chain on the starter was set to tight and was rubbing on the gear which caused the starter to ware out.

When I put the new starter in; the chain slipped off of the bottom gear. At least I was able to work through the problem.
