Default Is this needed for Tao 110 to run?

This is a Tao 110, question.. does it need the stater \mag attached for the bike to run? It's one of the pics attached.

The second pic of the solenoid... Do those wires look like they are connected in the correct spots?

Any feedback is appreciated

The coil with what looks like paper masking tape round it, provides the spark, it has to have the flywheel going round it to do that. You can't tell from the picture if the solenoid is wired right, from the dust on it, it looks to have been running like that for a while.

Should be easy, just follow how it is hooked up now and hopefully the wire colors match.
