ATC 110 with new Chinese carb won’t stay running
#1
Got the 110 as a gift from a friend, so no documentation on year or anything. But I got a Chinese carb for it off amazon, threw it on and couldn’t get it to start... finally got it running but I would have to bury the idler screw on the carb almost all the way in for it to start, then it would rev like crazy until I backed it way out, then it would idle and purr like a kitten, (no choke needed) once it warmed up it would start right up no issues. Ran it for 2 weekends, started it cold like I stated before by taking the idler screw almost all the way in then backing it off once it started. It ran fine after that both weekends... it sat for 2 weeks... then it wouldn’t start no matter what I did.. I used some starter fluid and it came to life. But will only stay running for a little while and seems to bog then die after about 30 seconds or so. It does this with the choke on or off, the idler screw in any position, and the air screw leaned or rich 🤷♂️... runs great for about 30 seconds, but as I rev it up it eventually acts like it’s getting too much fuel and dies... sometimes it fires right back up, some times I have to use some starting fluid, but when it starts it does the same thing of running perfect for about 30 seconds or so then bogs out and dies... any body got any idea?????

Typical Chinese carb, not set up and adjusted for your engine. Probably not the right jet sizes. These carbs are mass produced for many different engines. These cheapo atv's are throw aways when they quit working. Forums are filled with folks trying to find info on them but none to be had....good luck.

So I put the stock carb back on after doing an extremely good job at cleaning it all up.... and it’s doing the EXACT SAME THING!! So frustrating, runs for about 30 seconds then dies... if I give it throttle it bogs and dies

Did you do a thorough rebuild with a quality rebuild kit? Just cleaning rarely works as the needle and seat as well as all the gaskets need to be replaced and are in a good rebuild kit. You also dont know where the float should be set.
Another thing to do is a compression check to see if the cylinder and valves are good.

I’m pretty sure it’s the coil, when it heats up, it cuts the spark... cause it dies at the exact same time almost to the second no matter what I do with the carb. And if you try to start it right after it ran and died it won’t start, but if you wait 10 min it fires right up then dies again at about 20 sec... it isles fine and everything so it’s getting fuel like it should, doesn’t sputter or anything just dies at the exact same time, after the coil heats up.... thoughts?
