The QSC ckutch kit improves the low to mid-range quite noticably. It does raise the engagement RPM from around 1750 to around 2200. Suprisingly the engagemnt is no harsher than stock, but obviously the you can tell it is engaging at a higher RPM. It is fine for the trail riding I do,even creeping along climbing hills the RPMs stay well above engagement and it seems to pull better down low climbing over trees ect....The only time you notice the engagement RPM is from a stop,so if you ride alot of technical stuff that requires stopping on inclines, like working your way up very rock hills ect I would suggest going to a lower engagement. Even then I think it would be fine, but would take some getting used to if you are used to a 1700 ish engagement. The main benefit/purpose of the kit is low to mid range WOT acceleration. I have the stock clutch components and they will come with the machine so it could easily be put back to stock.
Another option is contacting QSC....Adam is awesome with clutching and could set you up with something to meet your needs that would be better than stock if you ride extreme terrain.
Nicasil/Nikasil interchangeable terminoligy as far as I know...anyway it is factory and Polaris lists it as Nicasil. The early run 850's had Nicasil cylinders,I haven't heard the reason that they stopped, some say an attempt to cut costs, others say it was a problem getting and adequate supply of the coated cylinders ect..in any case on builds starting sometime around Dec of 08 they started using Iron cylinders.
The Terrathons are basically new...1st thing I did was change the tires. The not being top notch was in reference to the fact that they really aren't that great of a tire compared to tires Polaris has used n the past,PXTs for example. I see no reason why anyone would want to pull the BigHorns off and put the Terrathons back on,but the buyer is welcome to take them. SNot sure they would be worth shipping over seas though?

I was in Perth, West Oz today for some other business,
called in to a dealer to check the diference in EPS & non Eps.
and he offered me a deal i couldnt refuse.
after doing the sums it wasnt worth importing.
green isnt very common in oz so i ended up with red, and hasnt got your fruit.

Where are you located in NC? I am currently in SE PA and am looking for a second Polaris. I currently own an 07 sportsman 800 and have interest in yours, but have to see if the logistics even make sense as I am getting ready to head back overseas in a couple of weeks and am on a shortened timeline.
