Default duelies

I have a 2000 Honda Fourtrax 350 4x4 and I want to put duelies on it, what would be the best way to do so? And how much do you think it will cost?

What I've done to my Prairie, was switch all the lug bolts over to 7/16" wheels studs ( I had to drill out all my wheel stud holes in my wheels ), ( I also had to drill out my hubs a few thousanths smaller than the splines on the automotive wheel studs I replaced them with, so they would press in )...now I can use the 7/16" threaded rod connectors ( like 1.5" long nuts ), for my inside tires lug nuts... this allows me to cut some schedule 40 or 80 - 1/2" aluminum pipe to the length I need to keep the tires spaced properly, then screw 7/16" bolts in from the outer wheel, through the cut aluminum pipe, & into the threaded rod connector, that is already tightened onto the inside wheel...

I can honestly say that with the 750cc kit in my Prairie, I have the power to turn these... I doubt you would have the power to pull duels with your 350, unless you were to buy 9" or 10" wheels, & drop to a 22" O.D. tire, like the TSL's or similar...

MOOSE616... I didn't notice you were in Canada... you may be able to find the threaded rod connectors in the 10mm size ( or what ever metric size your lug studs are )... they are just not easily available here, except in SAE measurements...

I mounted 10 tires for the "bad to the Bone" contest, & made a run through the pit in the open class... 3 per side on the rear, ( for a total of 6 ), & 2 per side in the fronts ( for a total of 4 )... didn't win the Bad to the Bone contest... & I didn't get the mud shield completed in time ( I am sealing the inner & outer wheels, to reduce the weight of added mud, & add additional floatation )... the quad planed out nicely for 50 - 60 feet, but then took on enough mud between the wheels, that the tires sunk... the quad was floating, but with the tires mostly under the muds surface, & yet not touching bottom, it barely crawled ( in that situation, with out touching the bottom, the top offers nearly the same push in reverse, as the bottom of the tire does forward, so they just sit still & churn )... I will be doing several demonstration runs at the local mud races through out the summer, & have since completed the mud shields, so I'll use those runs to perfect the system for next years Mud Nationals... some races in the open class this year, were taking over 5 minutes for the winning quad to go the 100 yards... look for new record times of 10- 15 seconds next year

FYI... I added a few pics to my bio page... one with the 10 tires mounted... & one of my winning run in the SRA class at the 2005 ATV Mud Nationals... you can see them ( after the moderators aprove the pics ) by clicking the camera to the left... in that winning run, I was wearing a helmet cam for one of the TV crews at the races... so look for T-Rex on TV, on one of the ATV shows, later this year...
